Electronics Recycling

Residential Electronics Recycling Program

The Chicago Department of Public Health has made it easier to recycle your old electronics by opening drop-off locations throughout the city.​​

​

Electronics can include, but aren't limited to:

  • Computers

  • Televisions

  • Printers, fax machines, scanners

  • Keyboards and mice

  • VCRs, DVD players, and DVD recorders

​​There are drop-off locations throughout the city that operate from April 1 through December 31. All locations are listed in the graphic here.

The locations closest to the 39th Ward are:

  • 4808 W. Wilson Ave.

    • First Friday of every month​

    • 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • 6441 N. Ravenswood Ave.​

    • First Wednesday of every month​

    • 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

​

The City of Chicago also operates a Household Chemicals & Computer Recycling Facility located at 1150 N. North Branch St. This facility is open year-round during the following hours:

  • Tuesdays from 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Thursdays from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

  • First Saturday of each month from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

  • Digital converter boxes

  • Cable & satellite receivers

  • Small-scale servers
