Garage Sale Permits
Occasional Sales Permit Application
Residents seeking to hold a garage or yard sale must apply for a free permit through the Alderman's office. Each household is limited to two sales per calendar year unless a third sale is needed due to a permanent move. Each premit is for up to three consecutive days between 9 AM and sunset.
Applying for a Permit
You can apply for a permit by visiting our office at 4200 W. Lawrence Ave. or by filling out the application linked below and emailing it to our office at Ward39@CityofChicago.org along with proof of residence (state ID, utility bill, etc.).
